- Cooperative Identity
Alliance Cooperative Society (ACS) is an autonomous organization of Nigerian professionals living in different countries voluntarily united to meet their common economic, social, and cultural needs and aspirations through a jointly-owned and democratically-controlled enterprise.
Our Mission is to ignite futures – better futures – not only for our members and their families but Nigerians at large.
Our Vision is a far-sighted world-class organization, driven by an unswerving desire to be the most trusted and independent Cooperative society out of Nigeria. We strive to be recognized for our integrity, energy and excellence
Alliance Cooperative Society (ACS) is based on the values of Integrity, Accountability, Self-help, solidarity, self-responsibility, democracy, equity, and equality. Right from the tradition of the founders, Alliance Cooperative Society’s members strongly believe in the ethical values of honesty, openness, social responsibility and show care to one another.
Alliance Cooperative Society principles are rules and guidelines by which we put our values into practice.
Voluntary and Open Membership
ACS is a voluntary organization. It is open to all African professionals in all parts of the globe who are able to use their services and willing to accept the responsibilities of membership, without gender, social, political, racial or religious discrimination.
Democratic Member Control
ACS is a democratic organization that is controlled by its members. The general management of ACS is entrusted in the management committee which is a body of democratically elected 7-member executives. These professionals in different sectors of the economy actively participate in setting their policies and ensuring decisions are made. Men and Women who are currently serving as elected representatives are accountable to the membership.
Member Economic Participation
ACS members contribute equitably to, and democratically control the capital of the organization. At least, some part of the capital is usually the property of the cooperative. Our members usually receive limited compensation, when necessary, on capital subscribed as a condition of membership.
We allocate surpluses for any or all these purposes: developing the cooperative, setting up reserves, and other activities.
Autonomy and Independence
ACS is an autonomous and self-help organization that is sorely controlled by the members. If we ever enter into an agreement with other organizations, including governments, or raise capital from external bodies, we engage in that on terms that ensure democratic control by our members and maintain our autonomy.
Education, Training and Information
ACS provides adequate education and training for its members, elected representatives, managers and employees so they can contribute effectively to the growth and development of the organization. They inform the public about the nature and benefits of co-operation.
Concern for Community
ACS is committed to working for the sustainable development of their immediate communities and others through policies approved by their registered members.
